What is FAST?
The Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) is Florida's statewide progress monitoring system. FAST replaced the old FSA and is designed to give teachers, students, and families a clearer picture of how students are growing throughout the year — not just at the end of it.
FAST is a computer-adaptive test, which means the questions automatically adjust in difficulty based on how your student responds. Every student sees different questions drawn from the same large question bank. Tests are taken on a school computer or tablet and completed in a single session.
